Brown + Wallace were appointed by Argyll & Bute Council as part of a Design Team led by conservation Architects Coltart Earley to conserve, remodel and repair this important Grade B listed community asset within Campbeltown.

Externally the works include re-slating and new leadwork, rainwater goods, stone indenting, re-harling and partial rebuilding of spire along with replacement of all windows and doors.

Internally works involve conversion to high quality commercial offices on the ground floor with new toilets and access ramp along with installation of DDA lift to serve upper floor multi use community hall.

Following rot treatments and upgrading of fire and acoustic properties ornate plaster wall and ceiling mouldings replicated or restored in-situ. All hardwood moulded wall and ceiling panels, doors and linings removed offsite, restored and re-fixed.

New mechanical and electrical services throughout including chandeliers and external night lighting.

Development funding provided by Historic Scotland, Heritage Lottery Fund, Campbeltown Townscape Heritage Initiative, Highlands & Islands Enterprise, Argyll & Bute Council and Resource Efficient Scotland.
