7 West Nile Street

Brown + Wallace Building surveying undertook full contract admin and cost management services for the Office fit out at 3rd Floor 7 West Nile Street Glasgow.  We also undertook the role of Principal Designer.

The works comprised of a full office fit out including the alteration and upgrade to existing M&E, installation of new kitchen facilities, installation of glazed and metal partitions to form meeting rooms and a 52 person open office space with break out areas to form the new head office for Scottish Catholic International Aid Fund (SCIAF).  The works were undertaken while the building was in use by other commercial tenants with no disruption to the occupants.

Brown + Wallace were engaged from inception of the project and assisted SCIAF in design elements of the project including bespoke furniture and hot desk meeting rooms.  Building warrant drawings and specification were prepared and submitted to the local authority with approval being gained shortly after.  Contract documents and drawings were issued to contractors to tender.  Once cost were received a full tender analysis exercise was undertaken at the winning contractor was appointed.

Due to the clients timescales and set moving dates from current premises the works onsite had a turnaround of 6 weeks and following commencement of works onsite we chaired weekly progress meetings with the client and contractor, undertook progress and quality inspections, issued payment certificates and negotiated the final account with the contractor.   We also liaised with onsite staff and the buildings property managers on behalf of our client throughout the project to keep them up to date with the project costs and programme.

Brown + Wallace managed the works to a successful completion and under budget.

Well done to the team: Faye Harmey and Steven Stewart.
