B+W were delighted to be involved as Advisers to Principal Designer in this 2-storey newbuild secondary school to replace the existing Alness High School for Highland Council via hub North Scotland / jm architects and Keir Group. This comprised a two-storey main teaching block with single-storey sports block, with an overall floor area of approximately 9,475sqm.
In addition to the new building, the proposed development also included the construction of new and associated car parking, playgrounds, hard and soft landscaping, sprinkler enclosures, bins stores, two 3G synthetic pitches and one grass sports pitch. Demolition of the existing school, sports facility building, janitor's house and sundry other buildings was also included.
